In 1936, as the British Empire tightens its grip on Palestine, Yusuf is caught between his village home and his work in Jerusalem. Amidst an anti-colonial revolt, and Jewish refugees fleeing persecution from Europe, all sides converge in a decisive moment for the entire region. The movie will be followed by a Q&A with Stanford Professor Alexander Key.

Dr. Zachary Foster is the editor in chief of Palestine Nexus, a go to resource to understand what is happening in Palestine - online courses and a trove of over 40,000 historical documents that are available to download. Dr. Foster has a Ph.D in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University (2017). Since 2020, Palestine Nexus has redoubled its efforts to gather and protect treasures drawn from archives across the Middle East.

Since 1967, the West Bank has been under a military occupation by the Zionist state of Israel, which since its inception has continuously stolen land, imprisoned Palestinians, and built colonial outposts to uproot the Palestinian people from their native homeland. Join us for an educational event and fundraiser in this critical moment for the Palestinian struggle for liberation, featuring Palestinians who recently visited the occupied West Bank, who will be reporting on what’s happening on the ground. This event is coordinated in collaboration with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), Birzeit and the AACC.

Greta Berlin has been an advocate for justice in Palestine since 1967, In 2006, after working in the occupied West Bank, she co-founded the Free Gaza Movement, which successfully sailed boats into Gaza five times in 2008. She was the spokesperson for Freedom Flotilla 1 when Israel attacked and killed ten passengers on board the Mavi Marmara. Greta will be joined by Dr. Mohammad Subeh who is a Palestinian American emergency physician who has dedicated his life to serving others — locally in hospitals, nationally through public advocacy, and globally through annual medical missions in conflict zones, including to Gaza. Dr. Subeh was one of the medical coordinators for the latest Global Sumud Flotilla recently illegally intercepted by Israel in international waters.

Dr. Sang Hea Kil was a professor in the Justice Studies Department at San Jos State University and was also the faculty advisor for Students for Justice in Palestine at the college, when she was fired in November of 2025, for supporting students protesting the genocide of the Palestinian people. An arbitrator recently ruled that after nearly two years, she must be reinstated as a tenured professor, as her termination was excessive and should be reduced to a one month unpaid suspension. Come hear directly from Dr. Kil on July 25th at 12pm where a light lunch will be served.

Dr Zahzah who is a professor of Arab, Muslim, Ethnicities and Diaspora Studies at San Jose State University, will explore the ways in which US Big Tech companies reinforce Israel’s dispossession of Palestinians.

Anthony Aguilar served in the United States military for 25 years and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in Special Forces as a Green Beret. After retiring, Aguilar began working for UG Solutions, which provided security at food sites run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
