Democrats for Palestinian Rights - Bay Area ‘s main objective is to ensure fair and equal representation of the Palestinian voice in our Democratic Party. The Club will organize activities that promote leadership in political activities for Palestinians and allies; educate the community on relevant issues on and about Palestine and Palestinians; participate in local, state and national political processes and issues of importance of the local Palestinian community and the Democratic Party, promote Palestinian-Americans and allies to office locally, statewide and nationally, and provide a vehicle through which its members may actively participate at all levels within the Democratic Party.
As we witness erosion to our democratic values, Democrats for Palestinian Rights will foster open communication, dialogue, and foster relations with other marginalized communities with the aim to support equality and fair representation at all levels. This club will support advocacy for Palestinian human rights, as well as on domestic policy, local government initiatives pertaining to Palestinians, Palestinian-Americans, and allies. The club will actively work to counteract anti-Palestinian racism and hate in all its forms, including ensuring student safety and employment safety. Anti-Palestinian racism is defined as a form of racism that seeks to silence, exclude, erase, criminalize, stereotype, and/or dehumanize Palestinians and allies.
Democrats for Palestinian Rights will aim to shape local, state and national party positions, and advocate for fair and equitable foreign policy in Palestine/Israel. As lifelong Democrats with a renewed interest since the Gaza genocide started, we aim to shape policies that support our diverse community and Democrats as a whole. We look forward to working together as active participants in the Santa Clara County Democratic Party and Central Committee, bringing more awareness to critical issues and activities impacting Palestinian-Americans, Palestinians, and allies, while building our membership within the broader Democratic Party.
